Volunteering

We welcome volunteers to be a part of the Oxley community.   Not only is it great for your health and well being, it enhances the township’s community services and brings people together. There are many opportunities to volunteer in the Oxley community from formal committee roles, to sub-committee and occasional roles.  Please express your interest and the type of role you maybe suited to oxley3678@gmail.com.

Hello Oxley Resident,

It is fantastic to see many new residents moving into Oxley and enjoying all that it has to offer.

Oxley relies on the efforts of our volunteers to run the local Rural Fire Brigade; maintain the Oxley Shire Hall and look after the Oxley Memorial Park and the Oxley Recreation Reserve.

We would really like MORE hands to spread the load to assist our current volunteers and cover them at times when they are away on holidays.

Helping could involve:

  • Joining the fire brigade;
  • Grounds maintenance;
  • Planting trees;
  • Tidying up our roadsides;
  • Submitting grant applications;
  • Attending meetings to discuss community issues;
  • Contributing new ideas that will improve our social and fund raising activities;
  • Liaising with Council; and
  • Helping to organise projects and events;

We hold many social events including trivia nights, progressive dinners and high teas to name just a few.  It would be great to see some new faces turning up and supporting these events as well as getting some new volunteers to help out.  Our biggest yearly event is the Oxley Bush Market.  Helping out at the market for an hour is a great way to share the load and there are lots of varied jobs you can do during this enjoyable event.

Please think about helping out in a way that would suit you no matter how small.

If you would like more information or want to discuss how you can help out please feel free to contact any of the following residents to have a chat:

ora3678@gmail.com

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
