ORA Constitution and Purpose

Purpose

The Oxley Residents Association (ORA) A4814L purpose is to support the wellbeing of the Oxley community by promoting improvements in its physical and social environment and utilising systems and practices which encourage inclusion in decision making.

The Oxley Residents Association (ORA) A4814L will operate as a not-for-profit organisation, liaise and collaborate with other community and government organisations as required and seek and manage grants, donations and other funding in order to achieve our community purposes.

Constitution Changes

As part of the Victorian Governments initiatives to ensure that proper governance is applied to all organisations and associations within the state of Victoria while also ensuring they comply to Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 and Incorporated Association Rules  the Oxley Residents Association (ORA) A4814L is in the process of changing from it’s Current 1997 Constitution and adopt the Incorporated Association Rules listed under Victorian Governments Model Rules.

We would encourage all residents to read through the Model Rules before they are formally adopted at the next ORA AGM planned in July.

Note: prior to the AGM ORA is planning to hold a special meeting so any interested residents can come and discuss the modern rules with the view to adopting the following motion;

“To accept the wording of the Purpose of the Oxley Residents Association and to add it to the Consumer Affairs of Victoria Model Rules as part of the Constitution”.
